Products you can trust by professionals

When you’re dealing with pain, poor sleep, or niggly training issues, the right little tools can make a big difference.

This page is a shortlist of products we’ve found genuinely useful for our patients — things that can support your treatment, help you sleep more comfortably, and make rehab easier at home.

Quick note on transparency: some of the links on this page are affiliate links. That means if you buy through them, Compass Health Clinic may earn a small commission — at no extra cost to you. We only recommend things we believe are high quality and aligned with how we work. (You’ll always see “affiliate link” clearly marked, as required by UK ad guidance.)

How we choose what goes on this page

We don’t want a random list of gadgets. Our recommendations are based on:

  • Useful for common clinic problems (sleep posture, neck/shoulder tension, jaw clenching, snoring management, rehab progression)

  • Good customer support + returns (because fit and comfort matter)

  • Evidence-informed: we’re careful with big promises and focus on what’s realistic

  • Your autonomy: these are options, not “must-buys”

If you’re unsure what’s suitable for you, ask us at your next appointment — we’ll help you choose what’s most likely to help your situation.

Groove Pillows*

Best For: Neck/cervical Disc herniations, neck/shoulder tension, “waking up stiff”, tension headaches linked to sleep position

If your neck feels “cranky” in the morning, it’s often not one single thing — but sleep posture and pillow shape can absolutely contribute. At Compass Health Clinic, we believe that the most important thing is just sleeping comfortably, rather than any particular type of pillow, however if you are someone who needs a bit of extra support then this pillow has proven very popular with our patients.

The Groove pillow is designed with a supportive shape and “dip” to encourage a more comfortable neck position through the night.

Our favourite product is the The Groove® Adjustable Memory Foam Pillow 2.0 due the fact it can be adjusted to fit all different body shapes.

Why we like it

  • Supportive design for people who feel their current pillow leaves them slumped or twisted

  • Popular option for neck discomfort and morning stiffness (patient feedback varies, as with any pillow)

  • Cervical-style pillows have some research support for reducing low-level neck pain (especially morning pain) compared with conventional pillows

Who it tends to work best for

  • Side sleepers or back sleepers who wake up with a stiff neck

  • People who feel they “can’t find a position” and keep changing pillows

  • Anyone doing neck/upper back rehab who wants sleep to stop sabotaging progress

Sleep Pro*

Best For: teeth grinding / jaw tension (bruxism) and certain snoring solutions

Jaw clenching and teeth grinding can contribute to morning jaw ache, headaches, tooth wear, and “tight” facial muscles. And snoring can wreck sleep quality for you and your partner.

The Groove pillow is designed with a supportive shape and “dip” to encourage a more comfortable neck position through the night.

Our favourite product is the The Groove® Adjustable Memory Foam Pillow 2.0 due the fact it can be adjusted to fit all different body shapes.

A) Teeth grinding / night guards

If you grind your teeth at night, a guard can help reduce wear and sometimes reduce morning jaw sensitivity (not always — but it can be a useful piece of the puzzle).

B) Snoring mouthpieces (important note)

This one comes from personal experience. As some one who has mild sleep apnoea myself, I’ve found that since using the Sleep Pro my snoring has reduced by about 90% (according to my partner). SleepPro sell anti-snoring mouthpieces (mandibular advancement style). Research has been shown that in much as 80% of those with obstructive sleep apnoea, the cause is linked with the jaw falling back whilst sleeping leading to blocked pathways. This can lead to a lack of oxygen, poor quality sleep, and also snoring. If you’re waking up exhausted, and are known to be a snorer, these mouth pieces can be a real game changer.

Before you buy: Whilst the gold standard for Mandibular Advancement Devices is the Sleep Pro Custom AM, it is more expensive at £200. We recommend first trying the Sleep Pro Easy Fit AM. At £49.99, it’s a much more affordable mouthpiece, and lots of our patients notice an immediate difference and find it comfortable. If you find that your sleep and snoring both improve, but the mouthpiece still remains uncomfortable after a couple of weeks, then you can upgrade to the Sleep Pro Custom AM for a mouthpiece that is moulded to the shape of your teeth.

Very important: as snoring can sometimes be linked with obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA). If you have symptoms like loud snoring + choking/gasping, heavy daytime sleepiness, or witnessed breathing pauses, it’s worth speaking to your GP/sleep clinic before self-treating.
